Grip : GRIP November 2012
FORESTER GRIP DOUBLE PR CAMPAIGN FOR FORESTER CONTACT GRIP SUBARU’S fourth generation All-Wheel Drive Forester is now on sale in Japan, and in late November was introduced to the national motoring media in Canberra. The Japan debut showed the new Forester with an impressive list of new features that build on its long-established reputation for value, safety, great engineering and fun driving. The local media activity revealed even more about the much-anticipated Forester, with journalists being addressed by key FHI engineers, and Subaru Australia Managing Director, Nick Senior. While the information provided at the launch is embargoed until December 1, coverage will flow in the weeks leading into Christmas, providing further technical information about the normally aspirated and diesel models, along with drive impressions. The preview to the motoring writers included a road test across freeways, sealed country roads and testing dirt roads, as well as some forest tracks. The full-blown media launch for Forester will happen in Victoria in late January, where the petrol turbo- models will be unveiled, as well as details about pricing and the associated marketing campaign. Subaru Australia Managing Director, Nick Senior, is excited about the new car. “This is the first time for a very long time that we have done a two-phase media launch for a new model. “But we wanted to build some excitement about the model prior to its launch, but then hold back the Forester XT, always a product with media interest, until closer to on-sale time to give it another big push along. “It provides us with two bites of media coverage. “With plenty of December media coverage, it will get people to put it on their list for a late Christmas present for when it arrives a few weeks later.” In Australia, new Forester will draw on the theme of smarter, safer, further - smarter, thanks to a wide array of new technology; safer, in line with Subaru’s long-term commitment to occupant protection, and further, thanks to a wide range of engine and transmission efficiencies, and its ability to traverse all roads.
