The top five technicians have been named and we of fer our congratulations to: Michael Cooper - Suttons Subaru Mathew Fiorenza - Artarmon Service Peter Hearne - Carlin & Gazzard Matthew Moller - Penrith Subaru Rajnesh Prasad - Subaru Toowong Each will now be invited to come to the Subaru Training Academy to compete against one another to find the best Subaru technician in Australia. The winner of that prestigious title will then go on to represent us in Japan against the best technicians in the world. Master Technician Program Nominations for the Subaru Master Technician Program opened on August 1. Drive It Your WayTM is a unique Subaru offering. This program addresses the growing want of customers to spend more time in the car they are looking to purchase. Recently, Fairfax’s Drive section wrote a double page story (click here) on what customers want in a test drive, with journalist, Antony Lawes, stating: “While the 30 minute test drive seems to be enough for most buyers, there are a growing number for whom this is not sufficient.” Please review your Drive It Your WayTM program internally, promote it on your website and ensure your staff are using it as a differentiator. NEW ONE STOP SHOP SUBARU has launched its all-new merchandise portal which allows customers to purchase online via www.shop. subaru.com.au and have items shipped right to their door. Featuring clothing, accessories, hats, bags and much more, the new site allows users to purchase via a secure Westpac payment gateway. Offering new functionality, the site is easy to navigate. The home page offers four items at significantly reduced prices, as well as a special offers section. It also includes Subaru’s new WRX STI range, featuring a quirky WRX STI optical USB mouse. There is also a range of gift options like cufflinks, watches, wallets and even a BBQ apron. The new Subaru shop also recognises staff purchases and special pricing is displayed on the final payment screen. The top 10 selling merchandise items are: SUBARU ACADEMY NEWS training on technical, A4TD and training skills. Any technician wishing to apply should contact their regional service manager to obtain the information required to become a Subaru Master Technician. Robert Car – FHI Accredited Trainer Subaru Australia technical trainer, Robert Car, has just returned from Japan after successfully completing his FHI accredited Train the Trainer course. “Robert now joins a select group of trainers, including our own Steve Kennet t, to have completed the intensive Train the Trainer course.
